Animations
Animation
Beyond the production of photorealistic three dimensional rendering and “virtual visualization”, DIAGRAM can produce a range of full motion animations to fully illustrate evolving designs form the earliest conceptual designs to detailed elements of a project’s final design.
- The animations seen here depict an initial massing of the 100 year old Misericordia Health Centre Redevelopment.
They illustrate the preexisting and post development conditions on the larger campus and surrounding neighbourhood. - Further animation provides a more detailed perspective of the impact the new design has on the redevelopment project as it progresses though the integrated design process.
- Even more detailed animation provides stakeholders with the opportunity to experience how the projects proposed green roof would feel after development. Allowing them to see the true value of incorporating this sustainable design feature from an aesthetic standpoint.
- This animation shows the interaction of the design of a retail spaces artificial lighting, with the natural light available. The animation portrays this interaction from a near photorealistic and a false colour perspective highlighting exact artificial and natural lighting levels within the space. The white areas in the false colour animation indicate areas at the recommended lighting level for a retail space.
If a picture is worth a thousand words, then an animation is worth an infinite number of words.
The Benefits of Animations
By creating animations it is possible to better convey a design’s relationship to the surrounding area; this can all be done before the project is built, giving designers and stakeholders a realistic view of the completed project. In addition, creating animations of the detailed analysis can further the designers’ understanding of how the building reacts with the surrounding environment, as compared to analysis conveyed through spreadsheets or graphs.
